Amelia Pietropaolo currently works as Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Urology Department, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. Her field of interest is urolithiasis, endourology, minimally invasive surgery, new technologies.

Dr. Athanasios Papatsoris graduated with an honorary scholarship from Patras School of Medicine, the same institution where he completed his Master of Science. His PhD thesis was completed in the 2nd Department of Urology of Athens University, Greece. He was trained in urology in London and in Athens, where he became a certified Urological Surgeon. Then, he completed a two-year endourology fellowship in London (SpR level, recognized by the Endourological Society). He also completed a clinical fellowship in laparoscopy in Le Mans, France, supported by the European Urological Scholarship Programme, and served as an honorary Consultant in Urology at Royal London Hospital, Barts Health National Health Service Trust. He currently holds honorary contracts at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge and Imperial College, London. He obtained his Fellow of the European Degree of Urology (FEBU) degree in 2007 and has since been a FEBU examiner as well as the Vice Chairman of the EBU Examination Committee.

He graduated in General Surgery in 1980 and in Urology in 1983 and joined the Academic Unit at KU Leuven after his postgraduate training in London, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Mainz and Rotterdam. In 1988, he obtained a PhD in Medical Sciences. He became full Professor of Urology in 1993. He developed the original surgical technique for prepubic urethrectomy, percutaneous gastrostomy, lumbal splenectomy during orthotopic kidney transplantation, and of theLeuven “N”pouch for bladder substitution.

He has published more than 200 papers as first author on uro-oncology and has co-authored more than 350 other ones and edited and co-edited several books of kidney and prostate cancer. He was Director of the European School of Urology from 2004 to 2012 and Adjunct-Secretary General of the European Association of Urology (EAU) responsible for Education 2012-2021.

Dr Van Poppel serves on the Editorial Board of European Urology, the official journal of the European Association of Urology, published by Elsevier, and is Chairman of the EAU Policy Office.

Dr. John Denstedt graduated from medical school in 1982 at The University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. He completed his residency in Urology at Western between 1983 and 1987 followed by a fellowship in Endourology at Washington University in St. Louis. He returned to London and joined the Division of Urology in the Department of Surgery at Western in 1990.

In July 2002 he assumed the role of Chair and Chief of the Department of Surgery at Western University and served in this role for 14 years. Dr. Denstedt is a Past Chair of the Canadian Association of Surgical Chairs and has served on the American Urological Association Board of Directors. He completed a 10 year term as Treasurer of the Endourological Society in 2018. He has been a Past President of the Northeastern Section of the AUA and in 2023 will serve as President of the Endourological Society.

While maintaining an active clinical practice, Dr. Denstedt is an internationally renowned scholar in urology with career accomplishments encompassing over 300 published papers and book chapters, more than 400 guest professorships in 60 countries and numerous honours and awards including being the first Canadian to have won the Gold Cystoscope Award from the American Urological Association in 1998. In 2019 he was awarded the Karl Storz Lifetime Achievement Award from the Endourological Society. Dr. Denstedt has served on the Editorial Board of eight major journals in Urology and is the immediate past Executive Editor of the Journal of Endourology. He is the immediate past Secretary of the American Urological Association and is the first Canadian to hold this prestigious position since the founding of the organization in 1902.

Dr. Lunelli specializes in urological oncology with a focus on prostate and bladder cancer. He worked as a full-time consultant at Tenon Hospital (AP-HP), Paris, from 2014 to 2019. His side activities include kidney transplantation and endoscopy. Since September 2019, he has been a senior consultant at Chartres Hospital. There, he has developed an integrated pathway of mpMRI, targeted biopsies, and targeted, computed, MRI-US elastic fusion focal treatment for prostate cancer. He performs targeted MRI-US elastic fusion biopsies with the Koelis Trinity station and has cooperated with radiotherapists on prostate brachytherapy since 2015.

Dr. Lunelli received his education in Italy and France. In 2017, he completed a Ph.D. thesis titled “Molecular profiles predictive of metastatic potential of infiltrating bladder urothelial carcinoma” through Pierre et Marie Curie University—Sorbonne Universités and the University of Milan, supervised by Professor Olivier Cussenot. In 2012, he completed a life-changing internship at Montsouris Hospital, Paris, with a focus on robotic and laparoscopic urological surgery, writing a thesis “Indocyanine Green under Near Infrared Light for Laparoscopic partial Nephrectomy,” supervised by Mr. Eric Barret. He also studied medicine and completed part of his residency program in Milan. From 2013 to 2014, he worked as a junior consultant in Sacco Hospital, Milan.

Dr. Lunelli is registered with the British Medical Council and the French medical regulatory authority. He has organized international workshops in Paris for urologists and interventional radiologists. The father of two boys, he is passionate about “no dig” vegetable gardening and permaculture. • Prof. Mauro Gacci has been dealing with robotic urological surgery and minimally invasive prostate treatments at the SOD “Robotic Minimally Invasive Urological Surgery and Renal Transplants” of the Careggi University Hospital since 2004. • Dr Mohamed Jalloh is a urologist trained in Senegal (West Africa) and working as a consultant urologist at the Hopital General de Grand Yoff, Dakar and coordinating the department of Medical Information.
• He has expertise in the treatment of urological cancers and research on prostate cancer in men of African descent. He contributed to running an NIH funded research project on prostate cancer under Dr Serigne Gueye co-PI in collaboration with Dr Timothy Rebbeck co-PI from University of Harvard. Such research focused on a better understanding of clinical and molecular epidemiology of prostate cancer in Senegalese men with an emphasis on developing research infrastructure.
• This research was further enlarged in a consortium, the Men of African Descent Carcinoma of the Prostate (MADCaP). Dr Jalloh is Co Investigator in an NIH/NCI funded grant to MADCaP (U01CA184374 – Dr Timothy Rebbeck PI) to study the Genetic Epidemiology of Prostate Cancer in Africa in the period 2019-2024.

• Dr Olivier Traxer is Professor of Urology and Chairman of the Urology department Sorbonne University Tenon hospital (Paris-France). He is the director of the GRC#20 (Clinical Research Group #20). He did a research-fellowship at Southwestern Medical School, University of Texas-Dallas-USA (Charles Y.C PAK & Margaret Sue PEARLE) to subspecialize in Endourology and kidney stone management.

• Dr Saeed Bin Hamri is an experienced consultant urological surgeon based in Riyadh. He is board-certified by the French Board of General Surgery and the French Board of Urology. Dr Saeed completed his postgraduate program in university hospitals of Paris. He holds a diploma in Laparoscopic Urology from Strasbourg University and a diploma of Urodynamics from University Bichat-Claude Bernard, Paris.
